Disability Is Not An Inability
Juventus Duorinaah has made history in Ghana by being the first deaf lawyer by being called to the bar. He marked a significant milestone for not only the legal profession but the disabled community as well. He was born in Wa, in the Upper East Region of Ghana where he began his education at Wa School for the Deaf where he laid the foundation for his academic journey. He further graduated at the Senior High Technical School for the Deaf in 2007 exhibiting his quest for excellence. He enrolled at the University of Ghana where he earned a first class degree in Sociology and Political Science.
His academic success extended internationally when he pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Human Rights Law from Cardiff University School of Law and Politics in the United Kingdom. Upon his return to Ghana, Juventus Duorinaah enrolled in the LLB program at the University of Ghana graduating with a second class lower honors. His legal education journey with his successful completion of the entrance exams for the Ghana School of Law where he endured six years of training.
Juventus hardwork culminated in his being called to the bar officially marking him a lawyer among 700 new lawyers this year in Ghana. His achievement highlights inclusivity and representation within the legal profession.
